Talk about it here.

The Senior Warrior was a Sensorite who lived during the time of the First Doctor's visit to the Sense Sphere.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Senior Warrior and his comrades were recognized by three black bands on his forearms. One of his fellow warriors stayed aboard Maitland's ship with Captain Maitland and Barbara Wright, while the Doctor, Ian Chesterton and Susan Foreman travelled down to the Sense Sphere; Barbara was later allowed to join them.

The City Administrator forced the Second Elder to ask the Senior Warrior through telepathy to bring the disintegrator key to the City Administrator, disguised as the Second Elder. The Senior Warrior later took the Fourth Sensorite to prison when it was clear he was lying about the Second Elder's death, and did so again after the Administrator had broken him out of prison to help in the kidnap of Carol Richmond.

When the Doctor and Ian prepared to go into the aqueducts to search for the poison in the water, the Senior Warrior instructed them in the use of the weapons that were given to them; and also admired their bravery. (TV: The Sensorites)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • It is never explained on-screen why the Sensorites have a Warrior rank, when they are pacifists and so cannot kill. However, it is confirmed in Big Finish Productions' audio story Sphere of Influence that the Warriors are meant only for defence.
