Zoltan soldier
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Zoltan soldiers were tiny winged insects bred by the Zoltans as their soldiers. Their sting caused paralysis and terrifying hallucinations that led to their victims dying of fright. They usually died after losing their stings. In the 1970s, the Zoltans had Adrian Fairley breed Zoltan soldiers on Earth and used them to eliminate prominent anti-Zoltan persons. When the Third Doctor visited Fairley's bungalow after his death, he was stung by the last remaining soldier, but since he was not human, it did not paralyse him, and therefore he survived.
