Owen sees a woman named Lizzy Saunders being stabbed with a knife . She screames and tells her murderer to stop , but he kills her anyway. Owen wakes up , beliving that the Quantum Transducer is a time machine.                   
Jack realises that the team are seeing recordings of the past . Meanwhile Gwen sees all the happy times she has had with [[Rhys Williams]] and realises how much she really loves him ,when she gets home she even , to his confusion kisses him.                                                                   
Owen discovers that Lizzies murder was [[Ed Morgan]] he tells Ed this . Ed screams at him to get out of the house , Owen runs away . Lizzies murder cries into his arms.                                                                 
Gwenand burny talk for a while on a road . Lizzies murder tries to kill them but Gwen kills him first . Owen tris to help but it is already too late . Jack says that he killed himself to make Gwen feel better.

Ghost Machine was the third episode of series one of Torchwood.

Synopsis

When Gwen retrieves an alien object from a fleeing man in a hoodie, she's haunted by a vision of a lonely young boy. As the team tracks down the object's owner, the elusive Bernie Harris, Owen experiences an even more terrifying vision and a long-buried crime resurfaces.

Production errors

  • Tosh tells Owen that Ed Morgan is claustrophobic, but when she checks his records on the computer, she says he is agoraphobic. Since one is a fear of enclosed spaces and the other a fear of open spaces, it seems Ed would not be comfortable anywhere!
