Blue Box was the fifty-ninth BBC Past Doctor Adventures novel. It featured the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown. This is author Kate Orman's only contribution to the PDA range, however she has written for several other Doctor Who ranges.

- BBC Books has announced that a "print on demand" reprint edition of this novel will be made available as of 30th September 2011 as the imprint revisits adventures featuring the first eight Doctors. So far it is the only Past Doctor Adventures novel featuring a recognisable incarnation of the Doctor to be reprinted. The others all are either Eighth Doctor novels or feature an unknown incarnation.[source needed]
