- ‘Mother’s Ruin’ was a working title for The Crimson Horror
- Writer Mark Gatiss especially wrote the parts of Winifred and Ada Gillyflower for mother and daughter actresses Diane Rigg and Rachel Stirling who he had worked on stage with.
- The Eighth Doctor’s final costume saw a new green coat, referencing the costume given to the character in his many comic strip appearances.
- Trenzalore once had two moons Soror and Frater.
