This page lists appearances of the War Doctor in the order in which he experienced them. This timeline is based on observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events in each of these stories. From these observations we have attempted to build a concise timeline. There are also many gaps between stories.
The layout of this timeline is based in part on the observations on Doctor Who Reference Guide and Doctor Who - The Complete Adventures, Lance Parkin's AHistory and other sources that allow us to make observations. None of these sources should be used solely as a source or considered a "true" timeline for stories.
Timeline
Early battles
- The Doctor regenerates from his previous incarnation.
- The young looking War Doctor makes a decision. In one outcome, he ends up a Dalek spy.
Escapades with the Squire
- In a flashback, the Doctor fights various battles with the Squire.
Missions of war
- Set during year A10%? of the Time War.
- The Doctor is unsure about whether he is even a warrior anymore, placing it after any story where he is seen actively attacking his enemies.
Final fights
- Leads directly into The Day of the Doctor.
- The Doctor regenerates into his next incarnation.
- The War Doctor appears in the Doctor's timestream long after his regeneration.
