1762 was the year in which the twenty-one-year-old Sabbath faced his final initiation into the Security Service. His individualised test involved him being bound, weighted and thrown into the Thames near St Paul's Cathedral. His task was to get out of his bonds. If he did, he'd be seen as a valuable asset by the Service. After fifteen minutes, he appeared to have failed the test. However, unbeknownst to onlookers, he had made his first contact with the Oracle, who freed him and caused him to travel far down the Thames to Cambridge. His test was judged a rousing success and he was made a full member of the Security Service. (PROSE: The Adventuress of Henrietta Street)

Katherine Monro was married to Alexander Monro II. (PROSE: The Many Hands)

In the summer of this year, the First Doctor, Vicki Pallister and Steven Taylor encountered Benjamin Franklin in London. (AUDIO: The Founding Fathers)
