In an alternate timeline created by Sabbath's superiors, 1732 was the year in which the twenty-one-year-old Sabbath faced his final initiation into the Service. His individualised test involved him being bound, weighted, and thrown into the Thames, near St Paul's Cathedral. His task was to get out of his bonds. If he did, he'd be seen as a valuable asset to the Service. After fifteen minutes, he appeared to have failed the test. However, unbeknownst to onlookers, he had made his first contact with the Oracle, who freed him and caused him to travel far down the Thames to Cambridge. His test was judged a rousing success and he was made a full member of the Security Service. (PROSE: The Domino Effect)
- The event in the proper timeline actually occurred in 1762, thirty years later. (PROSE: The Adventuress of Henrietta Street)
