November was a winter month in the Northern Hemisphere on Earth.

It was an especially pivotal month of turning points for Earth's history in 1963. It marked the moment when the Beatles first rose to major popularity as a music group, (AUDIO: 1963: Fanfare for the Common Men) saw the Soviet space program send a manned capsule into orbit around the Moon (AUDIO: 1963: The Space Race) and witnessed the tragic assassination of John F. Kennedy. (AUDIO: 1963: The Assassination Games, PROSE: Who Killed Kennedy)

At least in Blackpool, November was a cold month. Lucie Miller recounted how she didn't feel the cold much when she was out clubbing in Blackpool on a November Saturday night. (AUDIO: Blood of the Daleks)

The Fifth Doctor told Nyssa that England suffered a particularly cold winter in November 1963 as they exited the TARDIS on their way to Bob Dovie's house at 59A Barnsfield Crescent, Totton, Hampshire. When their dealings with The Master were all over, each Doctor stopped at Bob's house to see if he was all right. (AUDIO: The Light at the End)

Behind the scenes

The in-universe significance of November 1963 is due to the many homages to the date of Doctor Who's television premiere, 23 November of that year.
