Dr Patricia Audley was vice chancellor at Snowcap University. In 2048, she had set up the top-secret Project Sub-Zero, where people from the university such as Polly Evans and Marianne had experimented on, and were engineered into hybrids to survive in the extreme cold as part of an attempt to stop Antarctica from being destroyed by drilling, making the continent autonomous. The Twelfth Doctor stopped these plans when he transmitted a signal with his sonic causing Dr Audley's animals to go wild, and with the help of Winnie Clarence, freed the hybrid subjects from their cells.
