House Xianthelipse was a minor Great House which rose to prominence as one of the militaristic ruling Houses during the War in Heaven.
Just prior to the outbreak of the War, the War King encouraged the Houses to consider how they might adapt. Xianthellipse took this to extremes, experimenting with new forms and biodiversity. They were the only House to cross-breed its soldiers with lesser species, (PROSE: The Book of the War) and they developed 'war forms' for the Great Houses that left them indistinguishable from monsters. (PROSE: In the Year of the Cat)
House Arpexia was Xianthellipse's closest equal and fiercest rival. House Mirraflex looked upon Xianthellipse and its associations with the lesser species as being traitorous. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
In War Era 32, Xianthellipse offered to carry out an investigation of the Grandfather's Maw following three Arpexia timeships getting lost in the Maw. Arpexia let Minkosa of Xianthellipse aid Jendrickenses in the investigation. (PROSE: The Brakespeare Voyage)
