The Pacific Ocean was an Earth ocean that bordered North America, South America, Asia and Australia. The island of Salutua was located in the Pacific, as was the port of Honolulu. (PROSE: The Eye of the Giant)
The Pacific Ocean contained ocean trenches. The high pressure in these trenches meant that fish had to be specially adapted in order to survive. The Torchwood Hub had an aquarium containing deep-sea fish from the Pacific Ocean. (PROSE: Slow Decay)

Numerous islands occupied by thousands of Japanese soldiers willing to die for their Emperor stood in their path. Both American and Japanese fighter pilots encountered Light-beings in the war in the Pacific. (PROSE: Endgame) The ocean gave its name to this theatre of the conflict: the Pacific War.
