Norbert "Nobby" Stiles was a member of the England football team during the 1966 World Cup final. Rory Williams considered Stiles the toughest tackler England ever had. At the start of the 1966 World Cup final game, England used a four-four-two shape and Stiles was in a slightly deeper, more defensive position than the other three midfielders. True to his reputation, he made multiple vital tackles over the course of the game.
Rory Williams, Amy Pond and the Eleventh Doctor purchased Bazooka bubblegum that contained stickers of the players. Amy received a sticker of Stiles, whose image on the sticker showed a cheerful looking man missing most of his front teeth. (PROSE: Extra Time)
Robin Yeadon had a poster of Nobby Stiles and the other World Cup winners in his bedroom. In the poster, Stiles was grinning toothlessly. (PROSE: Nightshade)
