Taunton was a town in the south-west of England. Nearby towns included Bridgwater to the north-east. Local small towns and villages included Creech St Michael to the east of Taunton, North Petherton to the north-east, Bishops Lydeard to the north-west and Wiveliscombe to the west. To the north-west was Exmoor National Park. Taunton was located close to a motorway, the nearest access point to which was junction 25. (TV: The Categories of Life)
