The Vacuum Transport system (also known as the VT system) was a revolutionary mode of transportation on Trion. Created by the Imperial Clans, the system was able to move at 1000 kilometres per minute. Although the Clansmen were aware that cold fusion power could make for faster, smaller and more efficient space ships, they kept the information hidden for four centuries.

To use the system, one had to travel to a VT terminal where they could board the Vacuum Tube. When Vislor Turlough went to visit Juras Maateh at her institute thousands of kilometres away, it took him longer to get to and board the Vacuum Tube than it did to travel in it such a distance. There was a terminal in every inhabited sport by request of the populace to the Clansmen 3000 years before Turlough's return to the planet. (PROSE: Turlough and the Earthlink Dilemma)
