Juras Maateh
Juras Maateh was a Trion engineer and friend of Vislor Turlough.

Juras was born into one of the Imperial Clans during the Old Regime and lived in Valerange in Norring on Trion. She studied with Vislor Turlough, whom she befriended, but later chose to go to an institute to study physical engineering whilst Turlough went elsewhere to study astrophysics. Despite living thousands of kilometres apart, they were able to frequently visit one another using the Vacuum Transport system and remained friends.
Whilst Juras was a supporter of the Clans and was committed to what would become known as the Old Regime, she did not speak out against Rehctaht and her government following the revolution as Turlough did, being more careful with what she said, and was chosen by Rehctaht as a possible ally and potential science advisor. Before Turlough went into exile, he told Juras that he would return to see her again.
Juras's true reason for remaining on Trion was to divert Rehctaht's research away from destruction. She was promised further study facilities, but did not receive any and became involved in the Revolutionary Regime's secret scientific studies. She spent every day reading analyses and test runs. Following the Counter-Revolution, Juras decided to keep some of her findings secret from the New Regime as she felt it was too young to be trusted with certain knowledge. She began working for the Committee for Public Safety which oversaw the transition from the previous regime to the next, coming to hold a senior position.
Juras was aware of Turlough's return to Trion and checked up on him, finding that he was touring various ruins and museums across the planet. She was reunited with him at the Central Museum at Charlottenlund and, later, at the aerodrome following his return from Njordr Nerthus. She went with him to his house where they discussed his actions, the Gardsormr and other Trion matters. She remained at his house whilst he visited the Slotsruin in the Autonomous Republic, stowing away in his ship. She chose to help Turlough make the ARTEMIS drive and thus transform the craft into a space-time vessel, an effort in which they were successful, visiting Regal and Earth, where they met the Magician.
In truth, Juras's actions were due to Rehctaht, who wanted to solve the matter of the ultimate unified theory. The three were kidnapped by the Gardsormr who put them to work as slaves. They secretly built a second ARTEMIS drive and transformed the Mobile Castle into a time machine, allowing them to return to Trion with the planet's colonists, but later had to return to the castle in an unsuccessful attempt to stop it from crashing into Trion. They found that Rehctaht had placed post-hypnotic commands into her mind.
When Rehctaht took total control of Juras, Turlough was forced to kill her. He later averted this timeline by travelling back in time to the Revolutionary Regime and having Rehctaht transplant her mind into his instead. (PROSE: Turlough and the Earthlink Dilemma)

Juras was pretty, with long, dark hair, bright eyes and an open, friendly look that was typical of natives of Trion. Her bearing and style were similar to Turlough's. (PROSE: Turlough and the Earthlink Dilemma)
