The 2016 Christmas special, The Return of Doctor Mysterio, was filmed in September, between production of Knock Knock and Oxygen.

Filming on the fifth production block, which included the Extremis two-parter, took a break for the holidays in December, and continued into 2017, followed by the next two blocks and the 2017 Christmas special.
