In the Unbound Universe, Davros used a small ship to abandon Skaro and the Daleks he created, after being disappointed from years of developing the Daleks, which Davros believed had shown him that he could never make the Daleks fulfil his original vision for the,. Davros used the ship to reach the Quatch Empire, after the Quatch contacted the Kaled scientist and offered him a position in their Empire.
When he returned to Skaro with the Quatch decades later, Davros arrived in the Quatch mothership, rather than the ship he had originally used to leave Skaro. (AUDIO: Masters of War)
