The Madevinia aridosa was a type of flower that grew in the deserts of Gallifrey. It was small with velvety red petals with ragged edges. In the centre was a bioluminescent light. They had a very short lifespan and bloomed profusely after rain.
Due to their short lifespans, they were used in scientific experiments. Seeds of the flower were taken on the first Time Scaphe. (PROSE: Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible)
