Private Bryson was a UNIT soldier under Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart.
Biography
Sarah Jane Smith met Bryson when she escaped from Operation Golden Age headquarters.
Later, when Captain Mike Yates was holding the Doctor, the Brigadier and Sergeant Benton at gunpoint, having revealed himself as part of the conspiracy, Bryson entered the room with a tea tray, unaware of what was going on, and offered the captain a cup — giving Benton the opportunity to overpower and disarm Yates. (TV: Invasion of the Dinosaurs)
Behind the scenes
- The role of Private Bryson was originally written for Private Ogden, as played by George Bryson in Invasion part one and Invasion of the Dinosaurs part two. However, when Bryson was unavailable for the studio recording session for parts five and six, Ogden's lines were given to another hastily created new UNIT soldier character, who was given Bryson's surname as an in-joke.
- Private Bryson was described in the script as "a rather dim soldier".
