A single, textless and untitled panel was created by comic artist Lee Sullivan, depicting a crossover between Series 1 of Doctor Who and the 2005 BBC miniseries Casanova to reflect the casting of Casanova lead David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, succeeding Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor.
Commissioned by Stephen Law, Sullivan published a complete-coloured version of the art to his website alongside The Last Regeneration.
Plot
As the TARDIS flies through the Time Vortex, the Doctor and Rose await their next destination with glee. Rose steps out the TARDIS door, closely followed by the Doctor, and both are stunned to see multiple bronze Dalek drones occupying St Mark's Square in Venice, both hovering and on the ground. Also present at the scene is none other then Casanova, who comes face to face with the Doctor.

Story notes
- David Tennant played Casanova in the 2005 BBC miniseries written by Russell T Davies, directed by Sheree Folkson and exec produced by Davies and Julie Gardner. Soon after, Tennant was introduced as the Tenth Doctor, succeeding Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor in the lead role. This panel, with the Ninth Doctor and Rose encountering the Tennant Casanova, is a reference to this.
- As the naturally brown eyed Tennant had wore blue contact lenses in his portrayal of Casanova to match the older version of the character played by Peter O'Toole, Casanova is accurately depicted with blue eyes.
- As well as constituting a crossover between Doctor Who and a non-DWU series, it is also one of multiple crossovers between works by Russell T Davies which includes the appearance of Sandra Mitchell, a character from the the non-DWU series Children's Ward in the Series 1 episode The Long Game, and a reference to the Vivaldi inheritance from Mine All Mine in the Torchwood: Miracle Day episode End of the Road. Davies has elsewhere commented, "I think every show I've ever written fits into one big world."[1]
Continuity
- What appears to be one of Casanova's outfits would be seen when the newly regenerated Tenth Doctor selects his own attire in the TARDIS wardrobe. (TV: The Christmas Invasion)
- The Eleventh Doctor would recall meeting Casanova to Amy Pond and Rory Williams whilst visiting Venice in 1580, 145 years before Casanova's birth.
