Jarred McKenzie recognised Romana II and Narvin's TARDIS and planned to sell it to the Daleks. He was very cautious for them not to be seen knowing that there were Time Lords. He owned a mining business supplying the Daleks with fuel and used this fact to bargain with them to destroy his competitors. Once Leela destroyed his raider squadron, the Daleks exterminated him.
