On 5 March 2005, (TV: Aliens of London, PROSE: Rose, etc.) he answered the door to speak to Rose Tyler. She asked to speak to Clive Finch, his father, and he called for him, saying Rose was "one of [his] nutters". (TV: Rose)
Later, while the family was out shopping at the Queen's Arcade, he saw Autons kill his father in their invasion of Earth. (TV: Rose) Michael, Ben and Caroline then fled for their lives, only to be cornered by two armies of Autons.
