Hilda was a Russian spy who worked undercover for a while as Lady Fothergill's cook.

Albertson married her, but only for convenience, as he didn't really love her. She pretended to be upset at Chloe Fothergill's death, but was really her murderer, which was to punish Lady Fothergill for stopping sending secret papers to Russia. After Iris Wildthyme hinted that she knew that Hilda had murdered Chloe, Hilda tried to shoot her, but was accosted by Captain Edwin Turner, and captured by the police, who took her to MI5.
