Kevin Stoney (25 July 1921-22 January 2008[1]) appeared in three Doctor Who television stories: as Mavic Chen in The Daleks' Master Plan, Tobias Vaughn in The Invasion and Tyrum in Revenge of the Cybermen.
He was also considered to play Organon in The Creature from the Pit. (INFO: The Creature from the Pit)
For the Lost in Time DVD box set, he contributed to the audio commentary of the second episode of The Daleks' Master Plan, where he shared his memories on the story. He also featured on the documentary Evolution of The Invasion, where he shared his memories on working on The Invasion.
Career
Outside of Doctor Who, Stoney was one of the most prolific actors of 60s and 70s British TV, appearing in cult shows like Doomwatch, Ace of Wands, Space: 1999 and Blake's 7. He also had a regular role as Trent in Spy Trap (1972) and played the role of Roman astrologer Thrasyllus in both The Caesars (1968) and I, Claudius (1976).
Death
Stoney was reported dead by a Doctor Who fanzine in 1987, but later made an appearance on stage at a convention, proving the reports of his death were false.[2]
He subsequently died on 22nd January 2008, 21 years after the false claims were made.
