27 July was notable for a number of highly varied events on Earth throughout its long history:
In 1794, Robespierre was shot in the jaw and arrested at a National Convention meeting in Paris. The First Doctor, tricking the jailer of the Conciergerie into thinking that "Lemaitre" was a traitor, got a hold of the keys to the dungeon and freed his granddaughter Susan. The Doctor, Susan, Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton then left together in the TARDIS. (TV: The Reign of Terror)
In 1890, Vincent van Gogh committed suicide. (PROSE: Vincent van Gogh)
In 1928, the Fifth Doctor, Tegan Jovanka and Vislor Turlough met Edward Grainger near Mount Lishan in China. The Doctor mentioned several other events that took place on this date: Mickey Mouse's first appearance, the discovery of penicillin by Fleming, women receiving the vote and Tich Freeman's accomplishment in cricket. (PROSE: Falling from Xi'an)
In 2012[1], the Olympic Games opened in London. Chloe Webber, under the influence of Isolus, drew the audience of the opening ceremony out of existence. Before she could draw the entire Earth as well, she was stopped by Rose Tyler, who threw the Isolus pod towards the Olympic Torch. The Isolus left Chloe. The Tenth Doctor then lit the Olympic Flame, and celebrated their victory with Rose. (TV: Fear Her)
In 2017, UNIT prepared to archive Quadrant27787, their file on the N-Form attack of 1987. Colonel Marcie Hatter wrote a final report recording that after 30 years of analysis, no xenotechnology was found within the body of Eva Jericho. (PROSE: Damaged Goods)
