A plain-clothes detective inspector and two uniformed police officers found the shrunken corpses of Tegan Jovanka's Aunt Vanessa and a policeman in Vanessa's car — which had a flat tyre and was in a lay-by on the Barnet Bypass — on 28 February 1981.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

The detective inspector had never seen anything like it, and the Fourth Doctor realized Vanessa and the policeman had been killed by the Tremas Master using his Tissue Compression Eliminator.

When the detective inspector questioned the Doctor, he accused him of the murders. He and his officers arrested the Doctor and were about to take him to the police station in their patrol car when Adric tricked them, letting the Doctor escape to the TARDIS, which had materialized around the police box which was situated in the lay-by.

When the detective inspector used the police box's key to open the door, he found the TARDIS had taken off without him knowing, leaving behind an ordinary police box containing orange road warning lights. (TV: Logopolis)
