World Government and Space Empire was a feature printed in TV Century 21 which contained elements from the Doctor Who universe. It gave explanations for how the World Government of TV21's shared universe and its various sections, including Stingray's World Aquanaut Security Patrol, Fireball XL5's World Space Patrol and 21's Universal Secret Service, operated in unison.
Unity City, the capital of the World Government, made an appearance while the Astran Empire was mentioned, with both having been introduced in The Daleks comic story Duel of the Daleks. The DWU character of World President Nikita Bandranaik was also featured.

- The Solar Council is responsible for recommending to the World Government those planets which apply for entry into the World Government thus ensuring only the important business reaches the government headquarters in Unity City.
- Commander Shore is described as a "tough, experienced seaman".
- The Automatic Sea Map, or ASM, is a huge electronic map in Marineville which can tell Shore the exact position of every vessel at his disposal at a glance.
- The World Army and the World Air Force were merged into the World Army/Air Force in 2052 in an effort to streamline joint operations.
- The Boscombe headquartes of the WAAF is located on the largest airfield in Europe.
- Cooper Bristol claims his World Navy ships are "incorporating every advancement in naval science" and are "more than a match for any marauding Bereznik vessel".
- The World Space Patrol has the "largest and fastest" fleet of spacecraft in the Universe.
- The Earth divisions of the Universal Secret Service are the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, Siberia, India, Arctic and Antarctic.
Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Several of the details in this feature are repeated from the short story This is 2065 which similarily examined the structure of the World Government and the five sections of the World Security Council.
- The illustration used in this feature would later be used in Government, part of the Then and Now series.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The World Government was formed in 2034 in the aftermath of an atomic war which had ravaged Earth. COMIC: The Premonitions among others dated the beginning of the war to 2028.
- Dictatorships not willing to hold free elections to elect a senator were not permitted to join the World Government. Bereznik and Tong Vietkin are given as the only examples here, though COMIC: Down With The Director revealed that the same was also true of Great Britain until 2047.
- Since its inception Bereznik has continually tried to bring down the World Government, as seen in many stories including COMIC: Andromeda Or Die, PROSE: Door of Danger, PROSE: Thieves Steal Million Dollars, COMIC: The Black Ship and COMIC: The Assassination Threat.
- The Solar Empire has recently decided to give Uranus special aid from the Interplanetary Fund following the devastating meteorite storms there. These storms had previously been reported in several stories, including PROSE: Scoop of the Year, PROSE: Border Flare Up and PROSE: Miro Gilfor Sensation!.
- One new vessel Commander Shore is noted as having pushed the introduction of is the Sea Leopard, a surface strike ship previously seen in its sea trials in PROSE: Admiral Beatty Arrested.
- Junglecat divisions are mentioned as an example of World Army/Air Force technology. The Junglecat was first seen in PROSE: Jungle Terror! and COMIC: Curse of the Crustavons.
- Admiral Beatty and his successor Cooper Bristol are mentioned as giving "powerful direction" to the World Navy in recent years. Beatty was ousted as a Bereznik spy in PROSE: Admiral Beatty Arrest Sensation.
- The last time the Earth Battle Fleet was gathered in full force was when Earth faced war with the Astran Empire. This was depicted in COMIC: Space Border Battle and Ceasefire — But War Tension Mounts....
