Marineville
Marineville was a 21st century Earth city. It was the main headquarters of the World Aquanaut Security Patrol and was presided over by Sam Shore who served as its Chief and Commanding Officer. Marineville was also the base for the WASP vessel Stingray and the home of its crewmembers, Troy Tempest, Phones Sheridan and Marina.

In January 2065, the captain of the S.A.3. sent out a call for help when monster jellyfish were sighted. After Marineville lost contact with Stingray, which was responding to the call, they were reported to be holding out "no hope" for a rescue bid. (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) This prediction proved accurate as Stingray later reported it had lost contact with the S.A.3. following an attack from a Titan Terror Fish. This raised the alarm and Marineville promptly began an air search in the Pacific for the aircraft carrier and its crew of seventeen thousand. Commander Shore also led a press conference on the matter, telling reporters it was the third aircraft carrier to disappear within a month. This news was printed on the front page of TV Century 21 on 30 January. (PROSE: Stingray Attacked!) Shore later placed Marineville on Orange Standby, citing concern for the safety of Stingray to a TV21 reporter. As the situation escalated, tensions at Marineville increased and Shore was said to be ready to launch the base's Hydromic Missiles unless Stingray was heard from within two hours. (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) As stated by the TV21 correspondent for an article on the front page on 13 February, the situation escalated again when Shore called Battle Stations, (PROSE: Fireball Surrenders!) moving the Marineville Control Tower into an underground air-attack shelter sixty feet below ground, (PROSE: Titan Declares War!) due an imminent attack from the aircraft carriers under the control of Titan, which were heading for the U.S. Western Seaboard in direct line with Marineville. (COMIC: Power Play) An attack did indeed soon follow, with the TV21 correspondent reporting on 20 February "salvo after salvo of rockets" were being fired from the aircraft carriers into Marineville's surface installations. This left Marineville High Command "reeling", leaving Commander Shore to decide his next course of action. (PROSE: Titan Declares War!) His plan — to hold off defence for just two more hours in case Stingray succeeded in resolving the situation after which "calculated destruction" of the aircraft would commence — was revealed in an interview with TV21 that was printed on its front page on 6 March. At the time, Strike Aircraft continued to bombard the surface installations and, though Shore acknowledged that the pilots were his own men and involuntarily participating in the attacks, stated he had no choice but to retaliate.
