The Resurrection Plant was an exclusive-to-audio story from BBC Audio featuring the Second Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon and Zoe Heriot. It was written by Will Hadcroft and read by Frazer Hines.
Publisher's summary
The TARDIS brings its occupants to Calico Three, an Earth-like planetoid where industrial foundries are worked alongside sophisticated technology. The Doctor is staggered to learn about the Resurrection Plant, which re-births anyone mortally wounded in the line of work.
While Jamie is put to work in the foundry, Zoe and the Doctor investigate the Plant - but when the machine goes terribly wrong, they must work with the locals to combat a horrifying monster. The Doctor also uncovers a shameful secret that, for him at least, hits close to home.

Notes
Unusually for a Second Doctor story, the words "Gallifrey", "regeneration", "Time Lord" and "staser" are mentioned, chronologically long before they would ever be used in the show, though these concepts are kept from Jamie and Zoe. Sound effects from the new series are used for the Regent's regenerations.
Continuity
- The Doctor shows Zoe the Sonic Screwdriver for the first time, explaining what it is. Jamie is only vaguely familiar with it, and refers to it as a "magic wand".
- Ren and the Regent are Time Lords, and are forbidden from interfering in the development of other species.
- The Doctor explains that the Regent can only regenerate twelve times.
- Jamie mentions that Polly told him the Doctor used to look like an "old man with white hair".
