Specimen Nine Lambda was one of twelve Kaled mutants who were captured by human military forces and contained within the Dalek Dome on Earth, their memory being used to create psychoscapes based on Dalek history as a tourist attraction. Nine Lambda's memory was the basis of the psychoplasm-based Golden Emperor.

When the Golden Emperor discovered his nature, he conspired to break from the Golden City Zone and conquer the galaxy. Upon taking control of the Dalek Dome's systems, he had a Informational Dalek machine fitted with a working gunstick to both defend Nine Lambda and relay the Emperor's orders to the controllers. When the quantum-powered reality gate allowed for passage from the Golden City to the real world, two Purple Daleks were likewise deployed to defend Nine Lambda. When the other Dalek-scapes formed the Dalek Alliance to fight back, the Old Skaro Emperor sent a squad of Death Squad Daleks to execute Nine Lambda and the other mutants before the Fourteenth Doctor collapsed the reality gate.

All twelve mutants survived the brief 2323 Dalek invasion of Earth caused when simulacra from the Dalek Dome briefly manifested in reality. Dalek Studies expert Georgette Gold reflected that they were still "dreaming of conquest" as the Fourteenth Doctor took his leave, placing the matter of whether or not to destroy the mutants onto her.
