The Evolving Dead was the first story of The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Volume Two, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written Doris V Sutherland and featured Jacob Dudman as the Eleventh Doctor.
It was also the first story of The Doctor Chronicles to feature a full cast.

The dead stalk the corridors of research station Romeo. For a technician (dead) and her ex-boyfriend (also dead), the Doctor's their only chance to escape. For the rest of the crew, he's their only chance to feed.

- The Doctor mentions George A Romero and references his zombie media, including the term shamblers.
- The Doctor studied under Hippocrates.
- The Doctor misquotes lines from Shakespeare's plays Romeo and Juliet and Henry V.
- The Doctor references the Schrödinger's cat thought experiment.
- Research Station Romeo is orbiting the planet Axolotl.
- The Doctor references Evo's attempts to upgrade him as "Mondasian", referencing the home planet of the Cybermen.

Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The Doctor is intending to arrive for Alfred the Great's coronation in 871 AD. He had met Alfred the Great in his previous incarnations, including his Fourth, (AUDIO: Babblesphere) Sixth, (PROSE: The Man Who Wouldn't Give Up) Tenth, (PROSE: Revenge of the Judoon) and earlier in his Eleventh incarnation. (COMIC: They Think It's All Over)
- The Doctor mentions that his sonic screwdriver started off as a conventional screwdriver, (TV: Fury from the Deep) but now has numerous additional functions. (TV: The Sea Devils et al)
- The Doctor battles and communicates with Evo in his mind, something he would also do against Mr Clever. (TV: Nightmare in Silver)
- The Doctor mentioned that he previously encountered robot mummies (TV: Pyramids of Mars) and alien vampires (TV: State of Decay et al). He did not recall whether he had met zombies previously, although he had actually met zombies of Haitian legend in his seventh incarnation. (PROSE: White Darkness)
- Evo is unable to find the Doctor in any databases, potentially due to the latter's actions in removing himself from databases and from history. (HOMEVID: The Inforarium) The Doctor also mentions that he's trying to fly under the radar these days. (TV: The Wedding of River Song)
