The Eleventh Doctor was the result of the regeneration of the Tenth Doctor.
Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Main article: The Doctor's regenerations (The Curse of Fatal Death)
The Eleventh Doctor came into being when his previous incarnation unwisely decided to tinker with some wiring with unplugging a generator. He then regenerated into his next incarnation when he triggered an explosion after running into another room to avoid talking to Emma. (TV: The Curse of Fatal Death)
Psychological profile[[edit] | [edit source]]
Because women now terrified him, the Eleventh Doctor found Emma very intimidating. He even appeared shy when talking to the Master because his etheric beam locators looked like breasts. (TV: The Curse of Fatal Death)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- In an early draft of the script, the eleventh incarnation was referred to as "The Plump Doctor", and described as "unprepossessing", with a parenthetical suggestion that he should be played by Mel Smith. His final name, used in the behind-the-scenes documentary and in Doctor Who Magazine credits, was "The Shy Doctor".[1]
- Jim Broadbent previously played a rather different version of the Doctor in a sketch for an episode of Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV.
