Finding the Tenth Doctor as a patient at the Royal Hope Hospital, Martha Jones recalled seeing him earlier and asked if he had a brother, to which he replied "no, not any more." (TV: Smith and Jones [+]Loading...["Smith and Jones (TV story)"])
According to one account, the Doctor's brother died along with the Doctor's children and the rest of the Doctor's family when the Doctor was forced to destroy both the Time Lords and the Daleks to bring an end to the Last Great Time War. (PROSE: Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia [+]Loading...["Doctor Who: The Encyclopedia (2007 reference book)"])
Irving Braxiatel once reflected on how his younger brother had left home. (PROSE: Tears of the Oracle [+]Loading...["Tears of the Oracle (novel)"])
Behind the scenes
- Printed in DWM 386, a parody version of the Doctor's family tree, which conflates the Doctor's televised history starting with the First Doctor and the "Big-Screen" reality of Dr. Who, identifies the Doctor's "brother (not any more)" as a separate individual from Irving Braxiatel ("Braxiatel Who"), who was established to be the Doctor's older brother in Tears of the Oracle [+]Loading...["Tears of the Oracle (novel)"]. This brother is stated to be the father of Dr. Who's niece Louise Who and, through her marriage to Tom Campbell, the grandfather of Menzies Campbell and Alistair Campbell.
