Composers John Lewis & David Snell have also composed for the series, but had their scores replaced. Lewis was originally hired to score The Mark of the Rani but fell ill during production (which ultimately resulted in his death) & was replaced by Jonathan Gibbs. Snell was originally hired to score Paradise Towers but producer John Nathan-Turner rejected the music after it was completed (deeming it too repetitive) & replaced him with Keff McCulloch who provided a replacement score inside of a week. Both Lewis & Snell's original scores can be found as Special Features on the DVD & Blu-Ray releases. | |||

|
Latest revision as of 17:02, 21 October 2024
The following is a list of people who composed the Incidental Music for Doctor Who from An Unearthly Child to today. The Doctor Who Theme itself was composed by Ron Grainer.
Stock Music[[edit] | [edit source]]
In the early years of the show, Stock Music was also used as Incidental Music for some stories. Some of these serials used music by one composer or group. These Stock Music stories were:
- The Edge of Destruction (1964)
- The Web Planet (1965) - Les Structures Sonores
- The Space Museum (1965)
- The Time Meddler (1965) [With Additional Music by Charles Botterill]
- Galaxy 4 (1965) - Les Structures Sonores
- Mission to the Unknown (1965) - Trevor Duncan
- The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve (1966) - Pierre Arvay
