Mistaken Identity was a Doctor Who Adventures comic story featuring the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Arriving in a dense alien forest, the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond disturb green, luminous fungi that smells like rotten cabbages. They are arrested by law-enforcement mechanoid DRC-1000. The enforcer believes Amy to be a shape-shifting fugitive known as Egron the Flesh-Eater whom it is hunting.

As the enforcer arms and prepares to fire, Amy is dragged through a cloud of the fungi gas by the Doctor and they make their escape. Amy heads straight for the TARDIS and the open door, but the Doctor is alarmed and before he can stop her, the doors shut and trap her inside.

The TARDIS that Amy entered should have been in the forest, not by a pile of rocks! The TARDIS reveals itself to be the shape-shifting fugitive that has now eaten Amy! Unless the enforcer lets Egron go, he threatens to swallow Amy. However, the Doctor reacts quickly and throws a nearby rock at the fungus. A huge cloud of gas engulfs Ergon, causing him to choke and spew up Amy. The enforcer contains and captures Egron

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The DWA comic strip adventures were very much aimed at a younger audience and the artwork and colours were bold and bright, reflecting the tone of the magazine.
  • Self contained, one part stories were the norm.
