When Tasha Williams first met Giles, she quipped that he worked for Mystery Inc, and said he was "missing the dog". Giles said this was "no way to speak about Archie [MacTavish]". (AUDIO: 9 to 5 [+]Loading...["9 to 5 (BBV audio story)"])
In Pete's World, Pete Tyler similarly compared the Preachers to "Scooby-Doo and the gang", commenting "They've even got the van". (TV: The Age of Steel [+]Loading...["The Age of Steel (TV story)"])
Behind the scenes
Although unnamed in The Age of Steel [+]Loading...["The Age of Steel (TV story)"], the reference to "Scooby-Doo and the gang", who own a van, is a clear reference to the main characters of the Scooby-Doo franchise, collectively known as Mystery Incorporated or Mystery Inc.
Though the group was later named in AUDIO: 9 to 5 [+]Loading...["9 to 5 (BBV audio story)"], no explicit DWU connection has been made between Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc.
The group also appears in LEGO Dimensions [+]Loading...["LEGO Dimensions (video game)"], a video game which crosses over with the Doctor Who universe.
