Heslington was an air traffic controller at Gatwick Airport in 1966.

He supervised the tracking of the Chameleon Tours aeroplane. He informed the Second Doctor of the range of the airport's radar and noted that when a plane passed out of radar range, they had no way of continuing to track it. (TV: The Faceless Ones)
