A minor change to the opening was made: Before the title sequence, Clyde would narrate the basic premise of the series over a montage of scenes.

Although not much is known about series 3. Possible early filming pictures have shown the TARDIS prop and David Tennant on set, although this could be from the final 2 Doctor Who specials. The pictures that show this is that the shirt that David Tennant wears is different to the ones for the 2 specials for his last episode This appearance was confirmed in Doctor Who Magazine 409 and is in a two part episode written by Gareth Roberts. Russell T Davies said it's more than just a cameo from the Tenth Doctor! He's a proper part of the story." He also adds that the two-parter is "extraordinary, wild and powerfully moving," cryptically adding, "let's just say that the wedding of Sarah Jane will be a day for everyone to remember!"
