He was a High Priest of a cult that believed that the Osirans were gods. His family was serving these gods for hundreds of generations over nearly five thousand years. (COMIC: Spiral Staircase) He and Erik sent Cleo to retrieve an artefact (COMIC: The Fountains of Forever) that they thought would let them communicate with their gods and earn ascension as a reward. When Cleo, Erik and Hanif were taken by the Seeker to an Osiran mothership Shining Horizon, they realised that their deities were just powerful aliens and met the last one of them, Anubis.
