Inebriation

Inebriation, (PROSE: The Sorcerer's Apprentice) commonly known as being drunk or being intoxicated and also known as being hammered, bladdered, wankered, shit-faced, (AUDIO: Smashed) and pissed (PROSE: The Feast of Seven... Eight and Nine; AUDIO: Wildthyme at Large) was a mental state produced by alcohol that changed an individual's behaviour.

It was illegal for under-age individuals to be drunk, and bouncers could get in trouble if it happened. (AUDIO: One Rule)

As Susan once told Ian Chesterton, Gallifreyans could only get inebriated if they chose to, regardless of how much they drank. (PROSE: The Sorcerer's Apprentice)

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

Just after Christmas 2004, Lee believed the Ninth Doctor to be drunk when he was violently laughing about the fate of Big Ben. (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man?)

Gwen Cooper hoped that the Nostrovite egg inside her body was a hallucination from her getting drunk on her hen night. Captain Jack Harkness confirmed it was not. (TV: Something Borrowed) Jack actually reported getting drunk on Hypervodkas before his execution and how he ended up in bed with his executioners. (TV: The Doctor Dances)

Owen Harper could not get drunk after his death and subsequent resurrection. (TV: Reset, Dead Man Walking)

When Gwen Cooper and the locals of Glynteg become infected by an unknown pathogen, the only way to stop themselves succumbing to the effects of the pathogen is to drink excessive amounts of alcohol, leading to Gwen having to solve the case inebriated. (AUDIO: Smashed)

Jordan Proctor picked up the numbers of six girls on one drunken night out. (AUDIO: SOS)

Whilst facing a Dalek Flagship in the Doctor's TARDIS, Jack Harkness reported to the Ninth Doctor that "the extrapolator's working. We've got a fully functional force field." He added "try saying that when you're drunk." (TV: The Parting of the Ways)
