Davis "Dave" Griffiths was a Llanfairfach miner. He helped Dai Evans and Bert Pritchard investigate Ted Hughes' death.
When Hinks sabotaged the lift, causing Dai, Jo Grant and Bert to become trapped, he went with Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart to find cutting equipment to repair the lift. When the lift was repaired, Dave, the Third Doctor and two other miners went down into the mine to rescue Jo, Bert and Dai. When they found the now dead Dai, Dave sent the two miners back up with Dai's body.
He and the Doctor later found Bert, after which the Doctor sent Dave back with Bert while he went to find Jo. (TV: The Green Death)
