:One thing I don't quite understand is, how does this fit with [[Martin Jurgens]], whose name is visible in the episode itself? Is the idea that the Master killed Jurgens just for his uniform/ship, and then invented the name "G.R. Xsanthos" to use in a forged document? Or was there a miscommunication in the production that led to Graeme Harper's character being given two different names? Behind the Scenes[[edit source]]

I think we should have a section on how The BBC hid spoilers on The Return(s) of the Master, such as when Anthony Ainley was Credited as Neil Tonay. OttselSpy25 talk to me 20:17, October 21, 2011 (UTC)

Should these get their own articles?[[edit source]]

Why do some of the Master's aliases/disguises, like Emil Keller and Razor, get their own pages, but others, such as The Portreeve and Kalid, just redirect to this page? NightmareofEden 11:29, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

Oh and they're also double redirects, which probably should be fixed, if they're going to remain as redirects at all rather being expanded into their own pages. NightmareofEden

Mere assumed names shouldn't get pages, but I see no objection to expanding fully-developed personas like the Portreeve to their own pages. I suppose a good way to think about it is, "are those in essence fictional characters as whom the Master 'acts', with a constructed personality or even a fake backstory, or simply the equivalent of the Doctor flashing the psychic paper in people's faces?". New Find! Frontier in Space[[edit source]]

Some new production photos from rehearsals of Frontier in Space have been unearthed here.

  • "One small but intriguing detail is revealed for the first time by the pictures. The Master often used aliases (Emil Keller, Reverend Magister, Professor Thascales etc), but in Frontier in Space he was posing as the unnamed Commissioner for Sirius Four."
  • "However, although never spoken or seen on screen, a specific name was dreamt up by the production team. And that name was G R Xsathos – legible in this close-up detail of a document bearing the Master’s fake credentials, held by actor Michael Hawkins."

Do we think this could be added into the list of the Master's alias/fake names, or not, based on this? (Cross-posted to the Frontier in Space talk page too.) Fractal Doctor 11:13, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

One thing I don't quite understand is, how does this fit with Martin Jurgens, whose name is visible in the episode itself? Is the idea that the Master killed Jurgens just for his uniform/ship, and then invented the name "G.R. Xsanthos" to use in a forged document? Or was there a miscommunication in the production that led to Graeme Harper's character being given two different names? PintlessMan 11:36, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
That's Colony in Space. This is Frontier in Space. Fractal Doctor 11:42, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
Apologies: my coffee had not yet reached my brain. Now that I understand the question, I would say that if the prop was used throughout filming, and the Xsathos name is only unknown because of an accident of camera focus or resolution, then the photo should indeed be taken as clarifying what's already in the text. But if the document isn't seen in the episode at all, then the alias is probably one for the BTS section. PintlessMan 12:00, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

The document is seen on a desk (sans "stamp/seal"), but never in detail/focus. Fractal Doctor 12:07, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
