Roland Rat: The Series was a television series that was first broadcast on BBC One in 1986. It ran for two series plus a Christmas special, and ended in 1988.

Crossovers with the DWU[[edit] | [edit source]]

The second episode of the first series constituted a crossover with the DWU, as the introductory segment and the closing segment featured Colin Baker in character as the Sixth Doctor.

Cast and Crew connections[[edit] | [edit source]]

Marcus Mortimer, who directed the series, also directed A Fix with Sontarans, another Doctor Who crossover.

Brian Blessed, James Saxon, June Whitfield, Alexei Sayle, Louise Gold and Nicholas Parsons have all appeared in both series.

The series' writer, Colin Bostock-Smith, has stated that the character of Roland Rat was created by himself and Richard Curtis, who wrote Vincent and the Doctor.
