We Will Destroy Earth's Communications was a Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons comic story printed in TV Century 21 in 1968.
It mentioned the location of Unity City, first introduced in The Daleks story Duel of the Daleks, thus constituting a crossover with the Doctor Who universe.
Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
to be added
Characters[[edit] | [edit source]]
Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The breakdown of Spectrum satellite 4 blacked out communications with Spectrum's Australian Agents.
- The Mysteron threat states that Earth shall be made a planet of silence.
- Cloudbase is equipped with oxygen masks.
- Earth's ionosphere is at a height of 140,000 feet and has a radio-resistant belt from which Cloudbase is protected from ultrasonic waves.
- Visual sighting from Mount Palomar indicates Spectrum satellite 4 is re-entering Earth's atmosphere with Captain Scarlet aboard at such a speed that it will become a comet.
- Kremer and the lookout initially believe the fallen Scarlet to be an astronaut but theorise he was "probably on some secret project" upon closer examination of his uniform.
- Kremer tells Scarlet that Captain Black drowned in the aftermath of the yacht's explosion.
Story notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Like most of TV Century 21's comic stories from the same period, this comic serial was not given a title in the pages of TV Century 21 during its original printing; the title instead comes from later reference sources.
- The two "stand-by" Angels who are launched to destroy Spectrum satellite 4 are never named.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Captain Black impersonates a member of Spectrum, as he once was, to get Captain Scarlet buried in a lead coffin on the sea-bed. (PROSE: Capt. Black Mars Expedition Lost! et al.)
