Paludin Fields was the fourth release in the The Minister of Chance series. It was written by Dan Freeman and featured Julian Wadham as the Second Minister of Chance, Lauren Crace as Kitty, Peter Guinness as the Horseman, Jenny Agutter as Professor Cantha, Paul McGann as Durian and Sylvester McCoy as Persidian III, the Witch Prime.

The Minister and Kitty arrive in the strange and dangerous marshes of Paludin Fields in search of the Sage of the Waves. Meanwhile, in Sezuan, Durian's devious plans come to fruition. In the forests of Tanto, Professor Cantha sees the full extent of the Sezian's assault on science.

Kitty and The Minister attend the drowning ceremony in Paludin Fields. In Sezuan, The Witch Prime and The Seer of Sezuan make a pact concerning Durian.

Professor Cantha is in the hands of the Tantine resistance leader, Sunflower. In Sezuan, The Witch Prime's plot comes to fruition. In Paludin Fields, Kitty and the Minister finally meet The Sage of The Waves, and unfortunately... The Horseman.
