Mundy Flynn was a member of the Anglican Marines in the 51st century.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

At some point prior to 5086, Mundy Flynn was ordained as an Anglican. In April 5087,[nb 1] Mundy was deployed with the Anglican Marines to Kastarion 3, to fight a war against what she believed were the Kastarions.

She was a friend of fellow Marine John Francis Vater, who considered her a guardian figure to his daughter, Splice Alison Vater. On 5 October, John instructed his daughter to find Mundy to put her to bed while he was out on patrol. Canterbury James Olliphant tried to get her to swap patrols with him, which she initially refused. She was a talented tattoo artist, and tattooed one of her fellow clergy-soldiers, Posh Graham.

While Splice's father was out on patrol, he was killed by a Villengard Automated Ambulance Unit. As his next of kin, Splice received a geo-stamp of his location and went out looking for him. Mundy followed her into the field upon realising she was missing. She found the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday, and noticed the Doctor was standing on a Villengard smartmine. She pointed her gun at him to get him to drop her urn-vessel that contained John's "sacred remains", but the Doctor pointed out it was a moot threat given that he was on the mine. She initially didn't believe that the Doctor's more complex biology, being a Complex Space-Time Event, could destroy half the planet, but she accepted this after seeing the ambulance struggling with his biology. She got angry after Olliphant fatally wounded Ruby Sunday. She came to realise that Olliphant was in love with her and that she might be reciprocating the feelings. She was upset after the ambulance killed Olliphant and she saw his recorded final message from an artificial intelligence reconstruction of him, whereupon he confessed his feelings for her.
