As he is talking to her, he cuts his hand on a scalpel, so Martha has to stitch it back together, saying that it will have to be stitched every week because of his inability to heal. The team then has a meeting about a man named [[Henry Parker]] who has been missing since the 1980's, yet Torchwood has had him under surveillance for years since.

  • In the scene in which Owen asks Jack what he can do when he goes home, the computer behind Jack shows the Dalek weapon from TV: Evolution of the Daleks.
  • From this episode on, Owen always has a bandage over his left hand because he cut his palm and broke a finger, and his body can no longer generate new cells to heal wounds, making any damage sustained permanent.
  • A deleted scene reveals Henry Parker and Owen's conversation was meant to be much longer, but was edited for time and controversial content. During the extended scene, Henry voices his dismissive thoughts about Christianity after deciding there was nothing to look forward to in the afterlife, and discusses pleasant memories of his late wife that have kept him going while he was still alive.
  • The rooftop scene between Owen and Maggie was derived from a similar rooftop scene in Lidster's previous story idea, Checkout. Though in this earlier idea, the story was centred around Ianto - and thus, the scene was between Ianto and Maggie.[1]
