The Doctor, John and Gillian land on the planet Go-Ray where the entire planet is powered by Cardium. As the doctor and his grandchildren approach the Cardium HQ an explosion takes place causing the power supply to fail. The travellers are blamed by strange, wheeled Go-Rays who imprison them.
On the planet [[Go-Ray (planet)|Go-Ray]], the [[First Doctor]], [[Gillian Who|Gillian]] and [[John Who|John]] are accused by the inhabitants (who move on [[wheel]]s instead of [[leg]]s) of depleting their nuclear pile's supply of [[cardium]]. But, with a little ingenuity, the Doctor is able to restore their power and is granted freedom in return.
