Andrea Watkins was a journalist who investigated Hyperville after an electrician was killed there in 2013. She had a meeting with Max Carson, who was in a high position at Hyperville. Also present at the meeting was Miss Devonshire. Miss Devonshire noticed Andrea was wearing Plastisol shoes and realised Andrea was a vegan.
The shoes began to grow up Andrea's legs and the plastic merged with her body when she became an Auton. (PROSE: Autonomy)
